Along with his career as choreographer and director, Amma Rajasekhar tried his luck in acting also with his debut appearance in the Telugu film Ranam 2. He gained huge popularity and fan following after his appearance in this movie.

Amma Rajasekhar was involved in many controversies due to his behavior. In 2015, he was arrested by the Hyderabad police when he was alleged for beating a gym trainer after a small argument between them.
An FIR was registered against him at Panjagutta Police Station, after which police has arrested him and took proper actions.
He was also involved in a police case when he was caught in a drink and drive case in Chennai in 2017 as he often drinks alcohol at parties.
